A Shadow Box Fence is an elegant way to bring a greenbelt or park into your backyard while maintaining a sense of privacy. With pickets set on opposite sides of a supporting horizontal rail you maintain a sense of space while at the same time open up to a larger natural area.
We build high quality Western Red Cedar Shadow Box Fences! Here are a few things we do different:
We use .099 rib shank SS nails – These nails won’t cause ugly streaks and will secure the pickets longer than the typical .086 nail.
We use #1 grade pickets – They look better than #2 grade pickets and will hold up longer in this unpredictable Texas weather.
We use treated 2x4 treated rails – Which are obviously stronger and more durable than non treated 2x4’s or 2x3’s
We use 4 bolts per Simpson bracket - Four bolts are better than two!
We use Galvanized poles or Postmaster poles – Because it’s the right thing to do!
